    Screw WL Spaces

    Yeah, that's right. Fuck Windows Live Spaces...I'm pretty pissed about the changes that Microsoft in it's infinite wisdom decided to make. I am currently working on a My Space and will (hopefully) be making a permanent home there.
     
    Imagine my surprise when I logged into my MSN Space last week and it now looks ugly as hell thanks to whatever brain dead team decided that they can design better than I can.
    Hey it's my damn space, I liked it the way I had it. Now there are borders around each section, the page doesn't even scroll properly anymore, and hell, my animated weed leaves don't even play properly anymore.
     
    Yes I could probably tweak this page and fix most of it, but why the hell should I? I've had this page, and tweaked it for just over a year now, and in one fell swoop, they fucked it. Who is to say that if I do fix it, they won't mess with them again in the future.
     
    So here is a huge one finger salute to the morons who have been 'working' (read screwing up) on these spaces.
     
    I'm pretty sure that once one of the facist MSN lackey Space police monkies see my pissed of post, they'll likely take my page down..so for now..I'd like to thank all of the people who have visited my MSN Space in the past, if it weren't for you, the reader, I never would have continued. Who knows..if MSN Spaces improve, I may continue to use this page, but who has the time to maintain two spaces at the same time? Hell, I havent even made use of my hosted web space yet.
     
    If you are not happy with the changes made to your own space, then I encourage you to speak out, better yet, move your hosting to another place as I have. The best way to hurt them is in lost revenue that they won't receive from the ad banners. Also, please leave your comments here let us know how you feel about these changes to your own personal place on the net, your own personal space that was invaded and changed against your will.

    Thats too bad and good news at the same time. Too bad because I really enjoy visiting your space, good news in that maybe the Spaces team will learn that they need to at least test this stuff before putting changes into effect that 'destroy' what people have worked to create.
     
    Hey, I realise that I don't pay for this hosting, but there are so many choices in the realm of free web hosting that MS needs to realise that if they start messing with people's creative spaces, they are not going to be happy.
     
    Keep me updated on your new site if you make one (man you gotta make a new one!) so that I can link to you.
     
    I highly recommend frihost.com if you want your very own webspace, or myspace.com if you want something more like MSN spaces. Kind of like a form web site I guess.

    There are a couple of terrific ironies in all this WL Space's re-modelling.  The first one is, all the changes have essentially driven increased traffic from MSN (or Windows Live, or whatever) over to the real cool kid on the block, myspaces.com.

    Secondly, WL Spaces is proud to sponser the new season of Rockstar:Supernova, airing on CBS.  This is ironic because for aeons, myspaces has been a place for musicians to showcase their talents, and their bands.  In fact, most if not all the contestants for this incarnation of Rockstar have myspaces places, not WL Spaces -and now they find themselves showcasing their talent in a forum that competes with mySpaces.  Is this a lame attempt by Microsuck to set themselves up as the new cool kid on the block and lure traffic from myspaces??  Well, I dunno 'bout you, but I am too old and too cynical to believe in coincidences of that magnitude - you bet yer ass they did.

    Bones, as you know, I have had my own run-ins with the MSN Policia, and this is pretty much the clincher for me.  For right now, I'll leave my WL Space up, but further updates won't be forthcoming.  Consider the Sage's Page closed until I have had a chance to shop around for a new hosting option, one that won't fuck-up my formatting every 3 or 6 months(cause this ain't the first time this has happened, chilluns).   In closing, I would like to pose one question for the WL Spaces braintrust:  How the FUCK did you manage to break HTML????
