2006/8/16 Screw WL SpacesYeah, that's right. Fuck Windows Live Spaces...I'm pretty pissed about the changes that Microsoft in it's infinite wisdom decided to make. I am currently working on a My Space and will (hopefully) be making a permanent home there.
Imagine my surprise when I logged into my MSN Space last week and it now looks ugly as hell thanks to whatever brain dead team decided that they can design better than I can.
Hey it's my damn space, I liked it the way I had it. Now there are borders around each section, the page doesn't even scroll properly anymore, and hell, my animated weed leaves don't even play properly anymore.
Yes I could probably tweak this page and fix most of it, but why the hell should I? I've had this page, and tweaked it for just over a year now, and in one fell swoop, they fucked it. Who is to say that if I do fix it, they won't mess with them again in the future.
So here is a huge one finger salute to the morons who have been 'working' (read screwing up) on these spaces.
I'm pretty sure that once one of the facist MSN lackey Space police monkies see my pissed of post, they'll likely take my page down..so for now..I'd like to thank all of the people who have visited my MSN Space in the past, if it weren't for you, the reader, I never would have continued. Who knows..if MSN Spaces improve, I may continue to use this page, but who has the time to maintain two spaces at the same time? Hell, I havent even made use of my hosted web space yet.
If you are not happy with the changes made to your own space, then I encourage you to speak out, better yet, move your hosting to another place as I have. The best way to hurt them is in lost revenue that they won't receive from the ad banners. Also, please leave your comments here let us know how you feel about these changes to your own personal place on the net, your own personal space that was invaded and changed against your will.

2006/6/11 Mac Killed My Inner ChildI hope you enjoy my new video. Found it on the web and HAD to post it here. I am so damn sick and tired of Mac users' elitist holier than thou attitude when it comes to computers. Hey all you Mac users, here's a news flash for you, if your OS was so damn good, then I suspect that more than 3 out of 100 people would be using it (not an exact number of course).
One of Macintosh users' biggest claims is that Mac is so much more secure than other operating systems. Well according to the numbers I have read, this just isn't true. Not to mention the fact that why would hackers bother with Macs? I mean if you are a hacker, your goal would be to get into something actually important (which you wont find on a Mac) or to infect the most computers that they can. It hardly seems worth the trouble to infect both Mac computers that are connected to the internet.
So here is a big finger in the air to all of you elitist Mac users out there who constantly run off at the mouth about the 'marvels' of Mac OS. (Not to be confused with the passive Mac user who uses one just because they don't know any better)
If you want to use Mac, then so be it, fill your boots, but guess what...I don't want to hear about it because I just don't give a flying fuck.

2006/5/12 VistaWell I've been doing some beta testing of Windows Vista and thought I'd post a couple screen shots for any curious people that haven't seen it yet. The build is 5365 (5408 coming soon). Still some problems with device drivers (at least for Nvidia video drivers anyway) but Vista looks pretty sweet so far. In the pics, the text looks a little messed up, but it looks fine on screen. 2006/5/2 Back againI apologize for the lack of updates to my MSN space, I havent really had much time for working here lately, although I have some new blog entries/rants in the works ;)
I have been mostly working on refresher courses for web design, Dreamweaver, and Flash.

2006/2/27 Still SSDDS Well there still isn't much new going on. I have finally managed to get some decent, ad free web hosting. If you are looking for some free web space, check out www.frihost.com . They have 250M storage, and a 10G/mth traffic limit which is way above what the other free hosts are offering that I managed to find, and there are no ads either unless I add them. Now the problem is to figure out what the hell to make my other site about. Suggestions are welcome, and I'll be posting links when I actually have some decent content.
I am thinking about adding a basic Windows XP help section. Mostly because I am tired of telling people over and over again the most simple things when it comes to computers (spyware? whats that? *groan*). If you are new to computers and don't know a damn thing about them, then for fucks sake take some responsibility and educate yourself. Would you drive a car without learning how first? And NO NO NO just because you can tell the left mouse button from the right, and can click up a storm on your online bingo site that doesnt mean you know how to use computers. That means you are one of the many in this generation of mouse clickers that we have going on.
In other news, I added a link to listen to Q-104. When I moved away from the city, Q-104 was one of the things I missed the most. Until now, I havent been able to listen to it for a year. Check out the link if you wanna hear a great radio station. Their morning show is really great.
Turns out that Alice Cooper and Helix are coming to the Metro Center (are you as surprised as I was that those two bands are still alive let alone still touring?) Tickets are a whopping $55 each. Cough, yeah right, $55 to see two old has-been bands? Hey I was an Alice Cooper fan years ago, but seeing him spit blood 20 years ago, as opposed to seeing him hobble across the stage now are two very different things. Helix? One hit wonders of the 80's. I am completely amazed that they are still able to play. Although I suppose it can't be difficult to remember all of the songs on one album now can it? Just goes to show, that coke habits will come back to bite you in the ass when you are old and broke (I have no idea if either are really on coke or not or ever have been, it was a joke, if you were offended then get bent)
One last thing...Have any of you (mostly Canadians) seen the commercial on tv for MDG computers? I have never seen a more retarded commercial in my life. They say things like 'it's about showing the world that Canadians can do more than play hockey' huh!? WTF do buying computers and playing hockey have in common? Anyway, it is easily the most stupid tv commercial I have ever seen. Personally, I think it's about showing MDG that we are a little smarter than their idiotic marketing. I wouldnt buy a pc from them after seeing this commercial, not that I would have before...but definately not now
 Anyway, thats enough rant for now...I havent found anything really good to rant about lately, Bush is too easy a target, I've given up on him.

Well there is a federal election this week. I don't really see the point, it's like choosing the next guy thats going to mug you in the park. I want to vote for the Marijuana Party, hey at least they can get behind a controversial issue, unlike the Liberals who have been sitting on the fence regarding marijuana legislation for years now, or the PC's who want tougher drug laws and tougher penalties on gun crimes in one of the countries in the world with few gun crimes. I have no problem with tougher gun laws, but I mean really..with all the other crap going on in ths country, I think they could find a better election platform. Hey, it's not like they actually plan on living up to their election promises anyway is it?
2006/1/2 R.I.P. DahlyA good friend of mine called me earlier today and told me that her puppy died, she was hit by a car. It's such a sin, Dahly (pronounced 'dailey') was such a cute lil puppy, with her little tongue hanging out the way that it does.
Any of you that know Gloria, you know that she loves her two dogs as if they were people, actually, probably more than people.
Come to think of it, I don't remember her dogs ever trying to steal something from me, or talk about anyone behind their back, etc etc...maybe they are better than people.
I guess one of the things that makes it even more of a tragedy, is because I remember how excited Gloria was when she was waiting for Dahly to be ready to leave her mother. She used to say things like 'I hope Dahly is like this and like that' and Dahly turned out to be exactly the puppy that she wanted.
Goodbye Dahly, you'll be missed.
2005/12/10 Merry ChristmasWell now, here we are in December, almost Christmas time again. So for all of you readers out there who say your nightly prayers (as I know you all do), I thought I would write something on religion. Not that I am a religious person myself, I am in fact, atheist, but hey, any holiday that promotes peace is alright by me. Religious or not.
I recently had a very interesting conversation at one of the 'meetings'. Now some of you will be familiar with the ritual of
'the meeting', but for those of you who are not, let me explain. The 'meeting' basically consists of some friends sitting around, drinking coffee and god knows what else, smoking some umm cigarettes, yeah that’s it, and discussing the fate of the world. This usually takes place in the middle of the night after work, although the occasional emergency meeting has been called in the afternoon, usually following a good Sunday afternoon of getting off work early, aka ER :)
Recently, at one of the meetings, the conversation turned to the topic of religion as it sometimes will. Before we get into this epic tale of biblical proportions, I have to stop and wonder, why this part of the bible was never mentioned in any of the Sunday school classes that I attended? (yes I was forced to endure this tribalistic ritual known only as 'the attending of Sunday school' by parents who thought it might do me some good...boy did I blow that theory out of the water)

As it turns out, god is a pretty vengeful bugger, with a sick sense of humor and he gets pissed when you steal his shit (hey...who can blame the guy right?).
Well after a good day of making friends (well war actually) with the Israelites, the Philistines managed to capture a rare artifact known as the Ark of the Covenant. Not to be confused with Noah's ark, one was a big boat, the other a big box. Now the ark originally contained the stone tablets which Moses brought down from a mountain top, containing the 10 commandments. So at first, all was well and the Philistines had scored some pretty happenin loot what with the ark and all.
They wake up the next morning, and a statue of their god Dagon, which had been next the ark, lay on the ground in pieces. So
the Philistines put ole Dagon back together and call it a day. Except, the next morning the statue is once again in pieces. The Philistines once again put the statue back together. Now at this point, god must be getting pretty pissed, because the Philistines just can't seem to get the hint. So enough is enough...what does god do? He decides to kill a bunch of the
Philistines, and the ones that died right away were the lucky ones, because the survivors were subjected to something a little stranger than the usual nasty god-like methods, he decides to give them a killer case of hemorrhoids. Yes that’s right,
piles so bad that Philistines are dying left and right from them.
So the Philistines say, holy shit, we gotta get rid of this thing. They take the ark, and ship it off to the city of Ekron
(we were originally in Ashdod). Well the hemorrhoids follow the ark to Ekron as well. After 7 months of shipping the ark around the country, the Philistines have had enough of death and sore asses, so they decided to send the ark back to Israel. Now, they also figured that maybe they should make a peace offering for taking the ark in the first place. So the plan was to carve out of gold, five golden mice, and five golden hemorrhoids and then place them in the ark. Now this part confuses me a little as there is another account of the ark being opened and 50,000 people dropping dead because of it, so I am a little curious as to how exactly they got them inside to begin with. Maybe they kept their eyes shut when they put the stuff in the ark.
They took the ark, (New and improved! Now includes golden mice and hemorrhoids!), tied it to a couple of oxen, smacked them on the ass and they ran down the road back to the Israelites.
Well it seems that god must have been happy with his new toys, because the Philistines lived happily ever after, if not a little itchy from time to time perhaps.
So dear reader, the next time you are in church, and presumably don’t have any gold to carve yourself some hemorrhoids, or a
lifetime supply of Preparation-H, when they say 'Praise the Lord!'.....then perhaps you should. Merry Christmas everyone

For those of you who do not know, a few months ago, three Canadians were arrested by the DEA (yes that's right, the American DEA) in Vancouver on conspiracy charges, for something that is not a crime in our country. For selling marijuana seeds.
The three Canadians were Marc Emery, Michelle Rainey, and Greg Williams aka Marijuana Man. I urge you to go to www.pot-tv.net for the full story and streaming video, and also www.bcmarijuanaparty.com for lots of great information.
Now let me ask the question, who the hell do the DEA think they are? Coming into our country, and arresting someone for something that is not even a crime here? These men face over 30 years in prison for something that is not even a crime in Canadian society!
Now, I'm not trying to promote marijuana use here, frankly, I don't care if you smoke or not. What I am saying is that Canadian sovereignty is at stake here. Since when do we let foreign powers dictate what happens in our country? Hell, even the Canadian senate agrees that prohibition of marijuana is worse than pot itself.
It will be interesting to see just what happens here. Irwin Cotler (Canadian justice minister) still has to sign the extradition order, Parliament is supposed to have legislation regarding controversial marijuana laws still requiring a vote, two years after it was first introduced.
All I can say is USA/DEA, fuck you eh.

2005/10/13 Get Yer Crap Together OK, so I'm walkin down the sidewalk right. On my way to work, it's a nice sunny fall day, and I am just enjoying my last moments of freedom before I start my shift.

So, now I'm dodging dog shit on my way to work. Attractive huh?
So let's get this straight...a while back I wrote about my thoughts on pitbulls and all of the owners that were whining about the breed being banned. So let's see...you, as a dog owner, are not responsible enough to pick up your own dog's shit, but you are responsible enough to keep your animal from hurting someone, should the dog happen to be in a pissy mood that day?
I mean christ, if you can't pick up after your dog, then sell the damn thing and get a fucking cat.
2005/10/9 Sunday ShoppingSo here I am laying in bed feeling like shit today and it just happens to be Sunday. It would be so nice to be able to go to the grocery store across the street to get something to make me feel a lil better.
But since I live in Nova Scotia, I can't. So here is a big 'fuck you' to all the assholes who voted NO to Sunday shopping.
I mean really though, the best argument that they could come up with was that most people feel that it is a family day and they don't want to shop. Well if you don't want to shop on Sunday, then stay the hell home, or go to church or whatever it is that you do.
The other arguement was that more people would have to work on Sunday. Awwwwwww so some grocery store clerks would have to work on Sunday, wow do I ever feel bad for you! Seeing as doctors, police, paramedics, people who work in restaurants and convenience stores etc etc etc ALL have to work Sundays.
So maybe the people who are against the whole issue shouldnt have access to any of these services on sunday. That's right if you don't like it, then wtf are you doing at Tim Hortons on Sunday?
Hell, I have to work Sundays (normally), and I don't hear these anti-sunday shoppers feeling sorry for any of us that already work on the weekend.
So, we live in a country where they want to make marijuana and prostitution legal (let me correct that, solicitation of sex legal, prostitution already is legal in Canada) but yet I can't go to a fucking grocery store on Sunday.
So, if you are against shopping on Sunday, then kiss my ass.
2005/9/6 The Bush Family Any of you that know me, know that I make no bones (pun intended) about the fact that I do NOT like the Bush family even a little. Is there any wonder why? First off he 'cheated' in the first election, he is a 'war monger', and has very strong financial ties with a family that has members that are known terrorists. Not to mention the fact that those known terrorists are the ones responsible for 9/11.
Anyway, apparently Barbara Bush was at the Astrodome where the refugees are being housed for the time being, and she was quoted as saying that many of the people there were "underprivileged anyway"
WTF is that!? So these people have had their lives destroyed by a hurricane, and you say that they were underprivileged anyway? So I guess the fact that they may have been poor makes it ok that they are herded like cattle into a sports arena. It's ok because they don't know any better right? So if they had been wealthy it would be different? Barabra Bush, you are a bitch. I sincerely hope that you have to endure something similar someday, and someone walks by and says "well they were old anyway"
I think the American people would be much better off with Casey and Finigan running the country. You should all take the Bush family (yeah the whole damn thing) and put em on a raft, point them at Saudi Arabia and shove off. Hell, the Saudis pay the Bush family more than the Americans do anyway.

Well it's about damn time! I was starting to wonder how many people needed to be chewed to rat shit before someone stood up and did something about it. The remaining pitbulls in the province will have to wear muzzles while in public. Some owners are pissed about that too. Really though, if you are walking around with a 75+ pound dog on a leash whose breed is known for making kibbles n bits outta small children, isn't it common sense to put a muzzle on it?

Although, last night I get to work, and our M drives are down again!!!!! For those of you that do not work with me, our M drives are network drives that we store all of our tools etc on. Also, my outlook wasent working so no email either...yeah pretty sad when we cant even keep network drives and email working huh. Oh did I mention that they have crashed about 4 times in the past week? I'm starting to get used to it though, so I just don't give a shit anymore, but I'll be pretty pissed if I get bitched at for not doing my job properly, when they can't even keep the tools we need up and running. Anyway, between lack of sleep, and working on Dreamweaver, and scouring that sludge hole we call the internet for hosting and domain referrals, I can't even come up with a good rant for the day.
